Participation in INFORMATIK 2016 in Klagenfurt
Prof. Martin Gaedke and our team member Markus Ast attended the INFORMATIK 2016 in Klagenfurt / Austria, the 47th annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI).
Among other things, Markus presented in a workshop our ideas on Value-Sensitive Design in Hyper-Connected Societies.

VSR members visit SEMANTiCS 2016
Michael Krug and André Langer recently visited the SEMANTiCS in Leipzig, an international conference on Semantic Systems and Linked Data Management.
Our professorship contributed a paper and a poster to the research community. Michael presented our current work on Knowledge Extraction from Heterogeneous Semi-Structured Data Sources. The poster contained our idea on Reputation-Aware Expert Finding with Linked Open Data.

Good Data Quality has a direct impact on Business success
Our VSR team actively engages in an industrial growth core project funded by the BMBF that is related to new and innovative Linked Enterprise Dats Services (LEDS).
Prof. Gaedke recently gave an interview on up-coming challenges for industrial companies in the management and assessment of Data Quality.

Congratulations to our new PhD Max Speicher
On Thursday, 4th of August 2016, Max Speicher successfully defended his PhD thesis "Search Interaction Optimization: A Human-Centered Design Approach". His supervisors Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Gaedke, Prof. Maximilian Eibl, and Dr. rer. nat. Andreas Both as well as the entire VSR-Team wish him all the best for his future endeavours.
Defense of PhD Thesis
On Thursday, August 4th, at 11:00, Maximilian Speicher will defend his PhD thesis "Search Interaction Optimization: A Human-Centered Design Approach" in room 1/336.
Exam 'Sicherheit Verteilter Software'
Following the decision of the Prüfungsausschuss (examination board), the exam 'Sicherheit Verteilter Software' will be a written exam in summer semester 2016.
